Ariadne's Dream Project: Love Poems for the World! - Dear World Poets, Supporters and Friends. This year I have begun a personal research program to create dream poems with the goal of helping to heal the world. The idea began many years ago when I was apprenticed to a First Nations Elder and he told me about the elders in the past who could heal parts of the environment by going to those places and staying there until the healing began. He described the world as a living entity that needs help and support, at times getting out of balance. Elders like Rolling Thunder did this on a large scale. A month ago I had a dream which inspired me to begin this project. Most of the time, my research projects are with other researchers but this time I will start the project by myself and then perhaps with other researchers do an anthology of dream poems in the future. I could use your help in the information process. If you have a short story or paragraph of 100-150 words or a poem that would in some way describe your cou...

I feel extremely lucky.... - Some people seem to walk through life charmed, with a lucky turn waiting around every corner. Most of us, however, tend to find our luck in little ways throughout the days by capturing the moments that mean the most to us and keeping those memories close at heart. I feel extremely lucky each and every day? lucky to be able to count my blessings? lucky to be able to care for my family and friends? and lucky to be able to truly do my best for those around me. How fortunate we are to have new chances, new challenges and new discoveries waiting for us. No need for lucky charms or four-leaf clovers, not when we have the opportunity to continuously learn, grow, give back and contribute to this wonderful world we live in. I am blessed to work in an industry that allows me to do just that. As a REALTOR®, I have the opportunity to serve my community by sharing my real estate knowledge and experience with people who are very important in my life: my customers. I will always be h...

A Budget to INCREASE global warming? - Despite rhetoric to the contrary it appears that yesterday's BC Liberal budget is designed to increase greenhouse gas emissions in this province. The largest sources of greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions in our province are from transportation and the fossil fuel extraction industries. So, the government chose to specifically increase activities in these areas. There were cuts in health care, education and other social services. But no cuts in the province's controversial highway expansion projects. Even though the province's own documents admit that these projects will increase ghg emissions. And the province kept in place the massive subsidies to the fossil fuel extraction industries. Costing the tax payers millions while increasing pollution. But the government was not content to rely on these measures alone to increase ghg emissions. It cutback and cancelled many programs designed to reduce emissions. The PST exemption on bikes, renewable energy sy...

Diamond Parking Scam again - I received a letter yesterday indicating that I have received a parking violation ticket back in May 2009 while I've parked in a reserved lot. However, I have not received any ticket on that specific day by a DP patrol. So I phoned them this morning to dispute the ticket and I had to go through their complicated voice messaging system for 5 min to figure out which option to choose from, finally I went through their company directory as there was no clear option to choose and talk to a person. Anyway, after I spoke with the agent she claimed that I received a ticket on May 27 and I walked away to another store where does not belong to their parking lot so the patrol person issued me a ticket. When I asked for a copy of the ticket she claimed they do not have any copy just details. I insist on not receiving any ticket so she offered me just pay the ticket original amount in 15 days not the penalties. This is a same case that happened to friend of mine a month ago. So I figured it out ...
